Impact extrusion instead of machining “Chips make you poor”

  • Wherever a near-net-shape can be impact extruded, you save raw material and machining time (chips).
  • Depending on the component shape and size, tolerances in the range of +/- 0.025 mm can be pressed to finished size. Tool-bound dimensions can also be pressed to tighter tolerances.
  • Savings in raw materials and production time guarantee a short payback time for impact extrusion dies and CNC clamping equipment.

Example

Turning a workpiece from bar stock requires high material input and extensive machining. Both of these costs. Impact extrusion technology can significantly reduce these material and manufacturing costs. The result: a short payback period of the original tooling costs.
